Recording Studio for Experience Days with a Professional Edge

We’ve had a busy few months here at The Beehouse.
To ensure we are providing the best possible music production The Beehouse Recording Studio has recently undergone a major revamp, reorientation and technical upgrade. We have been fortunate enough to acquire the main monitoring system from the now defunct Forge Studios in Oswestry. They are super high quality dynaudio M3A’s as used by The Prodigy. We have upgraded the soundcards to Mark of The Unicorn – MOTU 2408 mk 3 which now gives us full 96 ktz capability throughout the entire recording, mixing and mastering process. Our front end is a fully loaded Yamaha 02R96 mixing desk with up to 72 channels of digital and analogue inputs. Recording is still done using Cubase SX3 and Protools but is soon to be upgraded to Cubase 5.

To assist Phil in the Studio we have enlisted the help of music producer Tony Skeggs (renowned singer songwriter) to help us with the ever increasing number of Recording Studio Experiences. Tony not only comes to us with his wealth of expertise but brings his own inimitable style and sense of fun to proceedings.

Over the past few months we have been very excited to have had Molan Spectrum in the Studio. An amazing new innovative musical collaboration consisting of several vocalists producing songs written by Molan songwriter Jan Mosiewicz and developed by Lane & Lane Music.

On the brink of release is the new single ‘Rock off and Die’ by Molan Spectrum featuring Dangerous Dave on vocals. The video to accompany the release of the single is currently in production.
The studio has been inundated with Recording Studio Experiences - vocalists, songwriters, drummers and bands from all over the country all of whom have been a joy to meet and work with. We have been amazed by some of the impressive talents we have come across, many of whom we have requested back to work on other projects with us.

Recording Studio Experience - new studio, new website

Just In.....
The Beehouse Recording Studio, fantastic experience and professional studio, has now developed its studio facility and redecorated the interior in line with our professional style experiences. the vocal and recording booth now has beautiful new decor, including a mirror wall, mood lighting and a new entrance from the rear to give easy access to the WC. Pictures soon to be available.

This new development also gives a private waiting area for guests, as well as the studio lounge, which they are free to use is they wish. We hope the new facilities will be appreciated by all our customers - they have been projected for many moons! Photos of the new control room and recording area will be posted to the blog and the website over the coming weeks.

The Beehouse has also just re-vamped its recording studio site "Coolstars" for the new season, and we'd like you all to rush over there and let us know what you think. This site has been a long time coming, but we hope it's worth the wait, and that any minor glitches are ironed out straight away by your comments, which are welcome.

The DJ Recording Experience is suitable for anyone who would like to learn how to beat match and build fantastic sets using the latest computer software. In the hands of an experienced and working DJ you are taken through the stages of music selection, identification of the key elements in creating segues and a natural flow of music.

The end results of your day of mixing and beat-matching will be recorded at commercial standards onto a CD for you to take away.

The studio also has vinyl decks available for DJs with a background in vinyl mixing to come and record some of their favourite tracks and sequences.

A songwriter workshop offers the best of all facilities and a wonderful day of complete enjoyment, particularly if you have always dreamed of writing and producing your own songs. The day caters for comers of all experience levels, and is your own day with just yourself and the studio staff to bring your song ideas or complete songs to a level where they can be cut to CD in a commercial manner. To date, all songwriters arreiving at the Beehouse with an idea have left with a fully produced song, and this is a record we are particularly proud of, bearing in mind that some people arrive with only lyrics, some arrive with only a tune, and one has even arrived with neither lyrics nor a tune, but just a feeling of being "very angry"!

The studio offers help with initial tune isolation, arrangement with harmonies, production to include guitars, piano/ keyboards, bass, drums, orchestration and backing vocals, and will even offer a singer, should you wish it to be recorded by a professional.

A recording studio day for the new recording artist is all about the musical environment. The Beehouse strives to create a recording environment which is relaxed and informal, but at the same time introduce the artist to techniques and technologies which will empower him or her.
So all new artists arrive with concepts of what recording or music production are all about.

An experience may be a vocal performance where they simply sing their favourite tracks -in a singing experience the studio engineer works to develop and maintain a good or even excellent microphone technique. First recordings are often shaky and tuning is often an issue even with very talented performers. this is why our experiences are a minimum of 3 hrs in duration - to give a true experience of a recording session, customers experience the repeats, the edits, the banter accompanied by constructive criticism that all forms part of the artist engineer relationship, and makes for the best product.

An experience may also be where an artist brings his or her own music to the studio. In this case, the experience is much more a meeting of minds. Again, with informality a brief, the musician brings his or her particular skills and allows the studio producers and arrangers to blend in their overview and particular analytical skills and move the finished item towards completion. The most compelling of these is the songwriter experience. So much in a music experience of this type is the result of the way the arranger can relate to the intentions of the writer, and give direction to he new song or composition.

Based on the Wales Shropshire border near to Welshpool and Oswestry, we are ideally located for visitors from the entire Midlands and often have artists travelling from much further afield to take advantage of the versatility, technological advantages, gorgeous scenery and friendly atmosphere which is all part of the Coolstars Gift Experience.

During our recording experiences and other gift experiences , you are the sole customer, and the atmosphere is totally relaxing - away from any distractions - and mosts artists agree this is simply the pleasantest way for them to achieve their best.

Whether simply for fun or as a part of a career move, we can cater for your needs and work on your tracks to the level you require them - we offer a generous 5 hour gift experience which we have arrived at as the ideal length of time required for a true recording experience - we also offer a 3 hour mini-experience with the possibility of extension, for younger participants or those who only have limited projects.

A recording experience can be great therapy, and our results are highly polished and professional, so your day ends on a high note, and if you have a CD player in your car, you can listen to yourself all the way home!
